I am Martian

Yesterday, I went back to Bellevue Community College to find my friends, and I saw a picture of the book The Martian Chronicle drawn on the glasses at the back of the Cafteria. This is the BCC reading for this academic year. This picture inpired me to think about, WOW, Martian. I think there is no one really saw any martian on the earth or ...i dont even think martian are going to attack us in the near future. I do believe...Earth is the only planet has living organism or having complicatedly organized animal like us. It is interesting, why do some one would like to think about what is on the Mars?Is it Martian are so different from us? Is it Martian have a more complex brain than we do, and they are going to take over Earth?

My first impression to Martian from this movie "Mars Attack", I don't know if any one of you have watched it, but.....it would sometimes being broadcasted repeatedly in some special ocassion like Halloween. It talked about Martian attack the Earth and they seems like successfully taking over the Earth at the end. It sounds ridiculous, but it might happened if human keep destroying its own place and not paying attention of their own environment.
Other than the book and the movie, I have been told by one of my best friend, my forehead look like a martian.. because my forehead is really big and high (just like the one of Tyra Bank)..
and I am recently listening to a new album by Taiwanese singer, there is a new song called" I am Martian".The lyrics are really good, it talks about

" I am Martian, I don't know about the rules of the Earth and please send me back to Mars"
I don't know about the rules of this world, and most of time I would like to escape, run away from the things that make me feel stressful. Please send me back to Mars.

Martian is the Best!!!=)

Freeze Group

We did have the freeze group presentation on Monday, it was really interesting~
Since our group had thought about that idea before, and it is nice to see other group work it out!
they were having their freeze in front of the West Lake Mall, and adding "smell the Rose" other than freezing and make the scene more romantic=)
We did frozen too, but not at the West Lake Mall, is at the school Library.

we were frozen for 2 mins after Katrina sneezed, I was picking up a book, and thats bad of not having a better posture.XP. It was so tired of not moving and stay in the same position, but it still is a very unique experience for me.

Oh... it takes me a long time to thing what I should post... and I decide to sing part of my favourite song.=p
it is weird to hear myself through a speaker.haha.but is interesting too=)
it is a chinese song, and the name would be "Babe" in English.
The reason I like this song because my boyfriend always sings this to me when I am totally stressed out and cant fall asleep, this is the best lullaby for me.

p.s i think you might need to turn up your volumn be able to hear it.=)

Happy ThanksGiving

This is my third thanksgiving
there are no plan
no turkey
no smashed potates
no pumkin pie
no cranberry sauce
but I still got a very happy Thanksgiving holiday~
me and my friends went to Premium Outlet at midnight
there were sooooooooooooo much people shopping around!!!
I got nothing in the outlet
but I brought a brand new camera and a Ipod Speaker in
BEST BUY!!!!
the Fox News Channel are shooting over there

shopping seems to be the only thing could do
on the day after thanksgivng.=)
and I love to shop!

POET in three line

We were on the road, heading north to Seattle Premium Outlet. Oh! We got pull over with the 106mph on Interstate 5, the police come over and open the driver's door and said " You are under arrested". ?? Aren't we in the movie or sometime in our dream??

Group Presentation

and we are tired of the comcast, verizon, t-mobile commercial grafitti.

We had a group presentation today.
we were so excited!!!
we actually did our grafitti last monday, and we taped what we did
we put on posterboard around the campus by covering the TVs and the subway sign
and also some vending machines.
Tho, our posters were teared off and back to the recycle bin, we are so happy we did that.
Our group did really great job and especially William had made awsome videos for us.
Everything went smooth and the game we set up was really fun!hahaha!

And one thing is, it so cool for Joe brought a grafitti video for us, and it was soooooooooo nice.
I have seen grafitti around the street, truck in Hong Kong too, but never get a chance to take a look of the grafitti in New York or other places around the world.
The grafitti artists all have their unique and special name to present themselves and their artwork.
They are taking their own risk to paint around public space, but thats the place could make every one notice them. I think one of the artist said"They called us grafitti, and we don't call ourselves grafitti, we called ourselves BOMB IT"
Thats is so cool, and the spirit of just "GO FOR IT!" suprised me alot.

After the grafitti day, I am thinking of drawing grafitti for my final commentary.
oh. dont worry, it would be on the paper.=)

Live orchestra concert

I went to a concert by the Seattle Symphony last night, it was really really good!!!!!thats was so amazing of listening to live orchestra and feel about the power of music.
Actually I was going with my friend, because he needs me to write a concert review paper for ..him=_="

In the one and half hour performance, they played works from George Gershwin and Beethoven, I think the most impressive one would be Symphony No. 7 in Major and Presto from Beethoven which is more well known and I do played with these songs in the Taiko Game in NDS.haha.XP
I do love classical music since my childhood because I was in the Choir in primary school and middle school, I watched the school orchestra practice, so I know a bit about orchestra.

When I paid full attention of listening the tracks, I can feel the changes and how the composer felt then they were composing the great works. I love the sound of flute and violin which usually make a perfect match of high pitch with some...sad emotion in it and it is so amazing!!

This year's halloween is the most unforgettable in my entire life.



My friends had held a party of about 400 people in a hotel suite in Bellevue which is really really nice. We have got most of the Aisan student from Bellevue Community College, Seattle Central Community College, UW, Green River Community College, and most of us had make up and had really nice costumes. We have Jokers, Uncel Mcdonald, Pirates, Cops, Army, etc....
Me and my friends had spent hours to get ready and made up, we had so much fun by doing the Joker's made up.haha.

Film watched in class

I think the function of the letters in News From Home, is to express the feeling of how a mother miss her daughter in a metro city with a lot of cars, trains, and go through all the road, stop signs in her everyday life, but missing the her daughter in the video, like having a very dull and colorless life.
Both of the films don't use so much details of telling the audience what they are shooting and how they want to express, it all depends on the audience imgination and giving so much spacing for the audience to explore their feeling towards the film. Just like from Leslie's film, we don't know what the women was talking about at first place, we just know she is so noisy and keep talking from the beginning till the end, but the man didn't really give any responses. When we watch it again with the subtitle, we seems understand what she is talking about, although it don't make sense at all, but with language and interpretation of word, we understand more instead of just having the first impression towards the noisy women, it brought up more creativity.
The two films showed what would be happen in our daily life, like driving a car, waiting for the bus, for the subway. We never have a view of viewing "ourself" driving a car, or we waiting for the subway. We are using a third person's perception to view our daily life. When we are out of ourself, we would usually have a more clearer view of what we are doing and what is going on around us.
The News from Home, which is shooting all over the city with people walking around, cars, bus, subway passing by, with the interval of a voice of a mother reading the letters she wrote to her daughter. The thing is not about the film, I think is more about the letters, which makes me thinkg of me mom in my own country, is she having the same feeling as the mother from the film does?

Both of the film giving out a very clear message of not seeing things on their cover or the skin of something, we need to really think deep about it, when we explore or spend sometime to think about it, we would learn more from what think we know. =)

Eagle Eye

for a really long time, i haven't watch a movie in the theatre, and I did went to watch a movie yesterday."Eagle Eye"
the idea is not new, but it does remind me about how the technology is affecting us.

we use computer, cellphone, ipod, mac everyday, and seems like we cannot live without it.

there is someone always argue that "is technology bringing us convinence or bringing inertsia"?

thats a really good question, just like in the movie, all the data of the US citizen are stored in one ,big storage system, and when the technology is having more power than the human, it will totally take over our daily life, and it would be control us instead of we giving command to the computer.

as the technology keep developing and it is a open-ended/ no-ended system, how can we survive under the thing that are not develop under our control, and we are totally under estimate the effects that technology would bring us.

video shooting

I have never shot any video in my entire life, especially the camera is right in front of me... and i feel embarrased@___@ as I think I am the only one in the class know how to speak Chinese, and interestingly, shooting a Chinese speaker worth 30 more points than a itlalian speak>___< i am so afraid of the whole class take a camera and shoot me...@___@It is really fun to get on the street, and ask for the pedestrian to cooperation with me, which was like...they would feel shy too!!right!?for the most impressed shot is me and Eliz was performing the ballroom dance move on the street...it was sooooooooooo fun and i have never thought of I can make it!is crazy and also let me know more about myself~~I was always thinking about shooting a music video for my friend in Hong Kong. may be this is a start for my video shooting experience=)

Our neigborhood!!!!BOTHELL

this is a really interesting field trip for me, i am not living near Bothell, and this was the first time to get the chance to look around and explore more about Bothell. Our group was being told to take pictures on a neigborhood, and I did found something really interesting. There are so many pattern and signs in our daily life, and we cannot live without the pattern and signs. e.g we have stop signs, we have the post box sign, garbage signs, and telling us what to do and what not to do. Besides having wonderful trees, flowers and plants in the neighborhood, let's check it out! and with the song "Let me take you there", and now, Let me take you there, and experience what I got in Bothell!!!

Game Time

I love to play games like monopoly with a plan and win after spending so much time and affort in it, although it is always a ever lasting game, it still attract me so much, I enjoy the moment of being the winner.=)
In the monoply, there is a routine for the steps you would be going through. Interestingly, you can choose staying or moving forward, on the same floor plan but you would always have many different possibilities and give ourselves suprises. Like we need to pay for the rent when we step on others property, and for sure, where we are buying a house or rent an apartment we are paying for it ; when you get wrong you would need to go to jail. Monopoly is just a mini-world, it is not real but some kind of reflecting the real world we are living.
Going through from "START" to "STOP" we woud gain money and start the journey again, just like we all do , after we went through one day, we gain some more knowledge and we start the other day on the same place and going through the rountine day by day.
There are also up and down in the game, the one having the most properties might not be the winner, and the one having the least might not be the loser, we don't know who would win and who would lose until the game end. We don't know how our every day life would be changing from day to day, and it depends on how we want it to be.

From the "everyday life"

By readine book, which is ...........really interesting.
I have never think of there are tones of ways to explain what is happening in our daily life.
even a habit or a routine.From the article of Maurice Blanchot which talks about a very interesting point.
I am not Christian or under any religion, but I was in a Christian school from the year of 6 to 18. The 12 years of religion study, learning how the Jesus as a saviour of us. I need to say the Lord's Prayer every morning in the assembly. I don't really know about the meaning of the Prayer, but it just come out from my mouth automatically every morning.
I don't pray before meals or before go to bed, I just pray once a day which is asking for the daily bread from God through the Lord's Prayer.
I have never think of the meaning of the Lord's Prayer untill I read this article. I realized that sometimes, religion is not really something need to be religious or humble to what we believe.Prayer is something would complete our day by making us feel more comfortable, coz no one would know about what is going to happen next second, but the prayer is a kind of psychological satisfation and make us calm, and believe~

the coming....winter

it seems like.....winter has came already.
windy...trees and leaves is blowing off.
i hate rainy days, is wet and also
it feels very dirty whtever you stepped on.

i love things to be neat and tidy, and clean of course.
thats why i hate rainning and snowing.
which made everything muddy>< on rainy day...there are not much to do.
juz stay at home.. and make some cake =)
i have made Banana Walnut muffins this week.
and i am thinking of making.....chocolate chips muffin today.haha.=)which must become the breakfast for my cousins!!!

20mins of doing nothing

Everyday, we got up
look at the computer
facebooking
MSN-ing
we never got a chance to slow down
and care whts happening around us.
I think this would be the first 20 min in the last few year
doing nothing.
I heard my cousin is running around the house, playing with their toy guns.
I heard the wind blowing on the trees.
I heard the SUVs passing our front yard.
I saw my closet is in a total mess.
I saw the blue sky outside the window.
wht a nice day for picnic and playing tennis.

although there is nothing doing ......
but why still.. there are so much idea in my head?
i wanna go to do the laundry
i wanna do the reading for the classes.
i wanna get some nacho


and i wanna.........
